Angry Mawmaw

I took this photo of my mother-in-law when we were on vacation in 2004. We were waiting for our food in a restaurant in Red River, New Mexico. We were all really hungry, but our food was slow in coming. I was playing with my point-and-shoot camera to pass the time. I put my tabletop tripod on the table for this photo. As you can guess, Kathy wasn’t happy about having her picture taken.
I love this photo due to its expressiveness, but Kathy has never liked it.

Windmill

This is the windmill in the greenbelt behind our house. Due to careful placement of the camera, you can’t see the suburban homes all around it. Also, if you look at the large size of the photo, you can see some palm-like plants that someone planted in the greenbelt. I tried to mostly hide them behind the windmill.
I’ve photographed this windmill on numerous occasions in the six years we’ve lived here. I took this photo on November 29, 2008. I’m really glad the developer left it when he turned this homestead into a subdivision (also glad he put a concrete plate over the old well near it).

Autumn is finally coming to Austin, so this morning I stopped at Red Bud Isle to capture some autumn goodness:

I’ll have to return in a week or two when more leaves have begun to turn.
